Growing up I had plans to be a professional baseball player during the summer, and a marine biologist in the off season…and live in a big RV. The RV thing could still happen!

When I started at TEE, I met a young designer who had just graduated from college and started full time after interning here for a few summers. I had drafting and design experience that I was happy to share with him, and he had the engineering background and was always willing to help me with some of the more technical aspects of our job. He saw that I worked hard but he challenged me every day to work smarter. We were promoted to Associate together, and I couldn’t have been prouder when he became a Principal. My TEE experience wouldn’t be the same without my good friend Andy Bell!!!

Starting as a drafter and working my way up to Principal at TEE has been an amazing experience. Along the way, I also earned a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, which was incredibly difficult (and often very painful!).  However, I am still most proud of my children; without them I don’t think I’d have had the motivation to accomplish nearly as much. 

I had the opportunity to work on the lighting design for Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. It was a challenge; a huge and high-profile project on an incredibly tight timeline, an entire summer of 16-hour days and 7-day work weeks, culminating with my wife going into labor on our permit submission date. I was on the phone with the project manager for a good portion of my son’s birth, but at no point in time did we consider naming him Joe Montana McKevitt.
